This piece reminds me of the very last minutes I used to squeeze out of the hour just before I was supposed to go pick up younger kids for carpool on my way to high school. The good ole days. This is a variation on Late to School 1 (2021), also available for open edition prints.
I've been experimenting with a return to drawing, leaving the rough edges in, but adding touches and washes of color, hopefully just enough to imply a more worked up version. I like this unbothered look.
